Customer Delivery Driver – Reading West

About the role

As the face of Tesco on the road, the Customer Delivery Driver brings groceries directly to customers’ homes in Reading and the surrounding West area. The role combines safe driving, handling of orders and friendly customer interaction, offering a varied and independent workday supported by a local team.

Key responsibilities

• Keep the delivery van, trays and work area clean, tidy and organised.
• Load the van safely, perform all vehicle checks and ensure roadworthiness.
• Communicate order changes, substitutions or short‑dated items to customers in a courteous manner and process refunds when required.
• Handle all products with care, treating each order as if it were your own.
• Deliver orders within the agreed time slot, providing a warm, professional service at the doorstep.

Required profile

• Build strong relationships with colleagues and customers.
• Maintain a warm, welcoming attitude and respond quickly to changing needs.
• Adapt to on‑road and store environments with flexibility.
• Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than three penalty points.

• Valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) held for a minimum of 12 months.

• Hourly rate £14.18 – £15.45, minimum 16 hours per week (12‑hour roles also available).
