Customer Service Advisor – Hybrid (Reading)

About the role

We are seeking a friendly, customer‑focused Customer Service Advisor to join our busy, supportive team in Reading. You will be the first point of contact for entrepreneurs enquiring about start‑up loans and business support, guiding them through the application process and ensuring a smooth experience.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for customer enquiries via phone and email.
• Manage a pipeline of 300+ start‑up loan enquiries and applications.
• Explain loan products, eligibility criteria and the application process.
• Guide customers through each stage, ensuring required documentation is completed.
• Maintain accurate customer records using CRM systems.
• Liaise with banking partners and internal teams to progress applications.
• Deliver exceptional service through regular communication and follow‑up.
• Promote training courses, business events and additional support services.
• Work towards customer service KPIs and team targets.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a customer‑service or support role.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable managing a high volume of enquiries.
• Experience in financial services, banking or lending is a plus.
• Passionate about delivering outstanding customer service.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM systems.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.

What we offer

• Salary of £30,000 per annum.
• Hybrid working model – office based in Reading with remote flexibility.
• Full‑time, Monday‑to‑Friday, 40‑hour week.
