Customer Service Assistant – Inpatient Bookings

About the role

We are seeking a Customer Service Assistant to support patients, consultants and colleagues throughout the inpatient and surgical booking journey. As a first point of contact, you will ensure a compassionate, efficient experience from enquiry to admission.

Key responsibilities

• Create and manage inpatient and surgical bookings using the Patient Administration System (PAS).
• Provide high‑quality customer service through clear, accurate and compassionate communication.
• Respond promptly to patient enquiries and coordinate schedules with consultants and their secretaries.
• Liaise with clinical and non‑clinical teams to keep theatre schedules up to date.
• Monitor patient pathways, ensuring timely departmental reviews and follow‑ups.
• Process patient payments accurately when required.

Required profile

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Highly organised, accurate and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Team‑oriented with the ability to build positive relationships.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Patient Administration System (PAS).
