Customer Service Assistant – Retail Store

About the role

One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco, is seeking a Customer Service Assistant to work in a fast‑paced retail environment. You will be the front‑line contact for shoppers, helping to create a safe, welcoming, and efficient store experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and encourage feedback through the ‘have your say’ survey.
• Operate tills, process payments, and assist customers at self‑service checkouts.
• Stock shelves, replenish inventory, and maintain a tidy, organised store layout.
• Support online order fulfilment, vending, and other store areas as needed.
• Follow health, safety, and security procedures, including the Think 25 policy for age‑restricted products.
• Cover shift responsibilities in the absence of the Shift Leader or Store Manager.
• If the store includes a Post Office Local, perform daily post‑office duties and pass required background checks.

Required profile

• Passionate about serving customers with pride and natural service.
• Willing to give and receive on‑the‑job coaching and feedback.
• Committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and community‑focused atmosphere.
• Reliable attendance and accurate clock‑in/out for pay.

Required skills

• POS/till operation and cash handling.
• Use of self‑service checkout systems.
• Stock replenishment and merchandising.
