Customer Service Operator – Full‑time

About the role

Barbour is seeking a Customer Service Operator to join its Bedesway Distribution Centre in South Shields. You will provide high‑quality support to customers via telephone, email and chat, handling enquiries, orders, returns and complaints while maintaining accurate records.

Key responsibilities

• Answer telephone, email and chat enquiries within agreed time‑frames, delivering courteous and efficient service.
• Assist customers with product information, online ordering and returns processing.
• Prepare trade‑faulty return authorisations, quotations and related documentation.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records of all customer interactions and transactions.
• Collaborate with third‑party suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues and improve service levels.
• Identify and share product or website issues, stock concerns and quality feedback.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work to agreed Service Level Agreements and meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail for accurate documentation and data entry.
• Willingness to develop product knowledge and customer service expertise.
