Customs Brokerage Co-ordinator

About the role

Freightserve is seeking an experienced Customs Brokerage Co‑ordinator to join its growing customs team in Feltham. The role is office‑based and focuses on managing UK import customs clearance for road freight, with occasional ocean freight shipments. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end customs entries, ensuring compliance with HMRC and Border Force regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit import customs declarations for road freight and occasional ocean freight consignments.
• Process CDS import declarations using ASM Sequoia and manage IPAFFS notifications.
• Liaise with customers, carriers, ports and government agencies to facilitate smooth clearance.
• Verify commercial documents such as invoices, packing lists and transport paperwork.
• Apply correct tariff classifications, valuation and origin rules.
• Monitor clearances, resolve delays or queries and maintain accurate records for HMRC compliance.
• Stay updated on changes to customs legislation and import procedures.
• Provide proactive customer service throughout the clearance process.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a UK customs brokerage environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK import customs procedures for road freight.
• Familiarity with ocean freight import clearances.
• Proven use of ASM Sequoia for CDS declarations.
• Working knowledge of IPAFFS import notifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Effective communication and customer‑service abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
