Cyber Security Lead

About the role

This permanent, fully‑remote position offers an experienced cyber security professional the chance to lead security strategy for a leading UK healthcare charity. Reporting to the Head of IT, you will own cyber security across the organisation, shaping governance, risk management and ensuring security is embedded in every technology delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cyber security across the UK business, driving governance, risk management and best‑practice security.
• Manage relationships with internal teams and third‑party suppliers to ensure services meet organisational security standards.
• Provide technical oversight of infrastructure, cloud and security solutions, supporting vulnerability management and secure‑by‑design principles.
• Champion recognised security frameworks such as ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, CAF and NIST, helping to mature the organisation’s cyber capability.
• Influence senior stakeholders and contribute to continuous improvement of policies, processes and overall cyber maturity.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior cyber security or information security role.
• Strong ability to work autonomously while collaborating with infrastructure, cloud and technology teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing senior leadership.
• Commitment to a mission‑driven environment within the healthcare sector.
