Cyber Security Operations Lead

About the role

The Information Commissioner’s Office is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Operations Lead to protect its network and information systems. Working within a dynamic, high‑profile environment, you will lead the detection and response to cyber threats while collaborating across Digital, Data and Technology teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to alerts from monitoring and detection systems within defined SLAs.
• Use configured tools and scripts to identify potential cyber security breaches.
• Analyse, respond to, and escalate cyber security incidents following established procedures.
• Monitor security appliance health, perform basic troubleshooting, and escalate serious issues to engineers.
• Contribute to the development of incident‑response policies, procedures, and capabilities.
• Maintain comprehensive logs of all actions taken during incident handling.

Required profile

• Proven leadership and technical expertise in cyber security operations.
• Ability to work flexibly in a fast‑paced environment and meet SLA commitments.
• Experience collaborating with cross‑functional technology teams and external authorities.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills for incident investigation.
