Cyber Security Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Specialist to join a leading international business operating across the UK, Ireland and Europe. The role is based in Birmingham on a hybrid schedule and will focus on implementing security controls, threat hunting, incident response and delivering cyber security projects over a six‑month period.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain XDR solutions, vulnerability scanning and privileged access management.
• Escalate and resolve security tickets raised via ITSM and incident management portals.
• Operate InfoSec processes, conduct threat hunting, detection, monitoring and incident response.
• Deliver cyber security projects, including deployment of new tooling and threat‑informed systems.
• Support the group’s offensive security programme and provide consultancy on controls, compliance and technical standards.
• Participate in incident management activities: preparation, containment, analysis and remediation.

Required profile

• Proven experience implementing security technology controls and managing security projects.
• Strong knowledge of information security frameworks such as NIST, CIS and PCI‑DSS.
• Hands‑on experience with IT systems, networking and cloud environments.
