Data Architect

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to join our Group Technology team on a 6‑month contract. You will help unlock the value of Connells Group’s extensive data landscape, creating safe, unified access for customers, colleagues and the business.

Key responsibilities

• Own CDM data architecture across cloud and on‑premises environments, ensuring scalability and alignment with business goals.
• Design and implement hybrid integration solutions that connect Azure cloud services with legacy SQL Server systems and third‑party APIs.
• Develop and enforce data‑modelling standards (conceptual, logical, physical) to promote reuse and quality.
• Collaborate with data engineers, BI developers and analysts to support efficient ingestion, transformation and reporting.
• Architect secure data flows from external providers while complying with GDPR and contractual obligations.
• Monitor performance, cost‑efficiency and reliability of data platforms, and activate Purview for governance.
• Maintain clear documentation of architecture decisions and standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing enterprise data architectures in cloud‑native and hybrid environments.
• Strong understanding of data governance, master/reference data management and GDPR compliance.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences.
