Data Architect – Snowflake – Up to £650/day (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a senior Data Architect with deep expertise in Snowflake to shape the enterprise data strategy for a long‑standing client in the South West. The role is contract‑based, fully remote, with occasional travel to the client site in Gloucestershire.

Key responsibilities

• Rapidly assess and document the current ‘As‑Is’ data architecture, including systems, flows and pain points.
• Define a future ‘To‑Be’ data architecture roadmap focused on scalability, security, performance and data quality.
• Establish robust data governance models, standards and best practices across the organisation.
• Collaborate with development and engineering teams to translate architecture into deployable solutions.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical teams and senior business stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Data Architect in a complex enterprise environment.
• Demonstrated ability to design both ‘As‑Is’ and ‘To‑Be’ architectures and create transition roadmaps.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, NoSQL, data warehousing and cloud data platforms.
• Background with Snowflake is preferred; experience with Azure, AWS or GCP is highly desirable.
• Excellent documentation and presentation skills.
