Data Cabling Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Data Cabling Engineer to join our Bedford team. You will support the delivery of building infrastructure projects, installing and testing structured cabling systems across a variety of environments.

Key responsibilities

• Install structured cabling solutions including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, fibre optic, blown fibre and voice systems.
• Perform panel patching, containment installation (trunking, conduit, trays, baskets) and cable management.
• Carry out fault finding, testing and termination using DSX/DTX equipment and Fluke testers.
• Execute fibre cutting, splicing, pig‑tail creation and hot/cold cure terminations.
• Work as part of a crew, ensuring safety, quality and project timelines.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Data Cabling Engineer or in structured cabling.
• Strong communication, self‑motivation and ability to work in a team.
• Organised with attention to detail and flexible working attitude.
• Full/clean UK driving licence and GCSE Maths & English (grade A*‑C).
• Valid SSSTS, ECS and DBS (or ability to obtain).
