Data Centre Operations Technician

About the role

Exponential‑e is seeking a Data Centre Operations Technician to provide high‑quality customer support across its data‑centre portfolio. You will ensure service‑level agreements are met, maintain ticketing accuracy and contribute to the continuous improvement of our managed services environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, patch and configure bespoke environments using a range of network, server and storage hardware.
• Use internal ticketing systems to resolve faults within SLA, handling troubleshooting, configuration and component replacement (servers, switches, firewalls, storage arrays, etc.).
• Install and configure intelligent PDUs for power monitoring and load balancing.
• Troubleshoot LAN connectivity issues and support remote access via SSH, Terminal Services/Remote Desktop Services, or remote access controllers.
• Perform basic structured‑cabling diagnostics, coordinate repairs with cabling teams, and re‑test links.
• Build, maintain and deploy custom DCIM software, ensuring full adoption and data accuracy.
• Collaborate with Data Centre Managers and other departments to improve procedures and share knowledge.
• Produce monthly reports on space, power and structured‑cabling capacity.

Required profile

• Willingness and ability to obtain Security Check (SC) and Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearances, funded by the company.
• Strong customer‑focus with the ability to maintain service levels for a diverse client base.
• Experience working in a data‑centre or similar technical environment.

Required skills
