Data Engineer (Full-Stack Data Products)

About the role

The Data Engineer will join a fast‑growing technology consulting JV in Newcastle upon Tyne, building and maintaining scalable data‑intensive systems that power analytics, operational tools and AI‑driven products. You will work across the full stack, from backend services to cloud infrastructure, delivering reliable data pipelines and production‑grade applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain production‑grade applications and APIs.
• Write reusable, well‑tested code following engineering best practices.
• Participate in architecture and technical design discussions.
• Implement automated unit, integration and end‑to‑end tests.
• Create sophisticated data pipelines to ingest internal and external data sources.
• Ensure data reliability, quality and uninterrupted access for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to improve data accessibility and drive innovation.
• Deploy cloud‑native solutions using Infrastructure as Code and optimise cloud architecture.

Required profile

• 2:1 or 1st class degree in Computing Science, Maths, Physics or a related discipline from a leading university.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer building data‑intensive applications and pipelines.
• Experience in the Financial Services sector is highly advantageous.
