Data Engineer (GCP) – London Hybrid

About the role

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join a fast‑growing digital media company in London. The role focuses on building and optimising data pipelines that power analytics, dashboards and A/B testing for high‑traffic content brands. You will work in a hybrid model, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver data‑driven insights.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines across multiple sources.
• Automate and optimise workflows using Airflow, dbt and Spark.
• Support data modelling for analytics, dashboards and experimentation.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and editorial teams to translate business needs into data solutions.
• Work with Google Cloud Platform services, especially BigQuery, to store and query large datasets.

Required profile

• Strong SQL knowledge and experience with both relational and non‑relational databases.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Java for data processing.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably GCP (AWS acceptable).
• Ability to work proactively in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
