Data Engineer – Hybrid role in Warrington

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join a growing data team near Warrington. The role is hybrid, requiring two days per week in the office, and offers the chance to shape the future of the company’s data platform as it migrates to modern cloud technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Extract, transform and load data from various sources including SQL databases, APIs and cloud platforms.
• Develop and maintain integrations between internal and third‑party systems.
• Support migration to Databricks and modern cloud data architectures.
• Build and optimise data models, schemas and warehouse structures.
• Collaborate with BI developers to deliver accurate reporting solutions.
• Work with Finance, Commercial and Operational teams to understand requirements.
• Ensure data quality, integrity and governance across the platform.

Required skills

• Strong SQL development experience.
• Experience building data integrations and working with APIs.
• Proficiency in Python or similar scripting language.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts (Kimball, Inmon).
• Experience with relational databases and schema design.
• Building and maintaining ETL/ELT processes.
• Knowledge of Azure Data Platform, Azure Data Lake and Azure Analysis Services.
• Familiarity with Databricks, Snowflake and ThoughtSpot.
