Data Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Data Engineer for a 12‑month contract to join a leading legal organisation in London. The role is hybrid and will involve working closely with senior team members to expand and optimise a modern, cloud‑based enterprise data platform.

Key responsibilities

• Support the build and enhancement of the enterprise data platform.
• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and transformation processes.
• Design and implement robust SQL transformations for reliable reporting and analytics.
• Contribute to data‑modelling activities to ensure effective data structures for business use.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to identify improvement opportunities and deliver high‑quality data solutions.
• Help address current capacity constraints while supporting the growth of the data function.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of experience in a Data Engineering role.
• Strong SQL skills, including complex queries and SQL‑based transformations.
• Experience with data‑modelling principles and best practices.
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise data platforms and pipeline development.
• Experience working with Azure Databricks and PySpark.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross‑functional environment.
