Data Governance Analyst – 7‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

This 7‑month Fixed‑Term Contract role supports Santander UK Consumer (SCUK) in maturing its data governance framework. You will work closely with Data Owners, Data Stewards and the Data Quality team to ensure key data elements are properly documented, controlled and aligned with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Data Owners and Stewards to capture and maintain Key Data Elements (KDEs) for critical business processes.
• Document data lineage and data‑quality controls for KDEs, defining new controls where gaps exist.
• Support the rollout of data‑governance controls in line with the SCUK Data Management Framework.
• Maintain the central record inventory and run monthly assurance for off‑system records.
• Assist in remediation of gaps identified in the 2026 DISA risk self‑assessment.
• Participate in audit recommendations and data‑governance‑related project workstreams.
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders across SCUK, SanUK and SCF in Madrid.
• Escalate any risks related to Santander Consumer risk policies, legislative or regulatory guidelines.

Required profile

• Strong communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills, able to influence at all levels.
• Analytical mindset with experience reviewing systems, processes and business requirements.
• Competent Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
