About the role
Sanderson is supporting a leading UK retailer in expanding its Data Governance function. The Data Governance Analyst will ensure that customer and business data are used securely, in line with GDPR, and support the growing volume of data‑related requests across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Chair Data Clinic meetings and review project requests involving customer and business data.
- Assess and approve data usage requests related to access, retention, security and processing.
- Support GDPR compliance, data incident investigations and governance activities.
- Maintain governance documentation, policies and reporting.
- Collaborate with technology, security and business stakeholders to identify risks and improve processes.
- Deliver training and guidance on data governance best practice.
Required profile
- Experience in Data Governance, Data Privacy, Information Governance or Data Protection.
- Strong understanding of GDPR and the Data Protection Act.
- Background working within a large, complex organisation.
- Excellent stakeholder management with the confidence to challenge constructively.
- Ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.
- Knowledge of AI and Large Language Models is a plus.
