Data Governance Analyst - Metadata

About the role

We are seeking a Data Governance Analyst focused on metadata to join our growing Data Governance team in Fareham. The role will help strengthen a data‑driven culture by delivering and enhancing metadata services that make data and AI products trustworthy, well‑managed and easily discoverable.

Key responsibilities

• Support planning and delivery of the metadata roadmap, owning key initiatives and deliverables.
• Develop and enhance capabilities in Collibra and Databricks Unity Catalog to raise governance maturity.
• Collaborate with Data Owners and Data Stewards to ensure data delivery and quality outcomes.
• Demonstrate metadata tool features to business stakeholders and promote their value.
• Identify process‑improvement and automation opportunities through metadata solutions.
• Coach stakeholders on linking business context with technical metadata processes.
• Contribute to the evolution of data governance practices that underpin data and AI initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of data governance best practices and metadata management principles.
• Minimum two years of experience in a data governance role within the financial services sector.
• Desirable DAMA qualification.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Collibra or similar tools (Informatica, Ataccama, Alation).
• Familiarity with Databricks Unity Catalog.
