Data Governance Principal Consultant

About the role

Slalom is looking for a Principal Consultant to lead Data Governance initiatives that turn data into a strategic asset for clients. You will partner with business and technology teams to design, implement and operationalise governance frameworks, data quality programmes and master data management solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the Data Governance discovery phase, conducting business interviews, mapping key processes and inventorying existing data assets.
• Collaborate with Slalom peers to develop or refine data governance strategies, frameworks, operating models and workflow processes.
• Define technical and business metadata with clients, identify data lineage requirements, set scanning schedules and implement data catalog tools.
• Assess data quality, remediate issues, create data quality rules, metrics and thresholds, and automate monitoring.
• Enhance Master Data Management solutions by identifying key data elements, designing cleansing and enrichment steps, establishing match/merge rules and approval processes.
• Train and coach data stewards to apply data quality rules, associate policies and standards, and ensure proper data usage.

Required profile

• Collaborative solution‑oriented approach to develop, sell and implement data governance recommendations aligned with client needs and priorities.
• Hands‑on experience delivering data governance projects, including assessments, framework design and implementation.
