Data Governance & Quality Lead (Temporary, up to 24 months)

About the role

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is seeking a Data Governance and Quality Lead to support its Digital Transformation Programme. This temporary, up‑to‑24‑month position will help embed robust data governance and quality practices across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead data governance roles, including owners, stewards, controllers and ambassadors.
• Manage communications and engagement to promote best‑practice adoption and change.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to conduct audits, assess data‑management maturity and define acceptable quality levels.
• Analyse data conditions, identify root causes and implement tactical and strategic solutions to data issues.
• Develop and deliver training to embed data governance and quality standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading data governance initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to evaluate data maturity and drive improvement plans.
• Experience in data quality analysis and root‑cause remediation.
• Understanding of data and database management concepts.
