Data Migration Manager

About the role

We are supporting a large, complex organisation undergoing a major technology transformation, including new SaaS platforms and legacy system consolidation. As the Data Migration Manager you will own the data migration strategy and delivery, ensuring data is accurately extracted, transformed, cleansed, mapped and loaded into new business systems.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the overall data migration strategy, standards and approach.
• Develop and maintain detailed migration plans, cycles, resources and timelines.
• Lead data extraction, transformation and loading activities across multiple systems.
• Analyse and profile data to identify gaps, quality issues and risks.
• Create and maintain data quality reporting and migration documentation.
• Validate migrated data with Finance teams and investigate discrepancies.
• Translate technical data issues into business and financial impacts for stakeholders.
• Manage third‑party delivery partners and oversee their migration activities.
• Lead and develop a team of Data Migration Analysts.
• Identify and introduce new technologies and tools to improve migration efficiency.

Required profile

• Significant hands‑on experience delivering large‑scale data migrations in medium or large organisations.
• Strong technical knowledge of T‑SQL programming, performance tuning, SSIS and/or Azure Data Factory.
• Extensive experience in data transformation, integration and data‑quality analysis.
• Proven ability to work with complex stakeholder groups and communicate technical issues to non‑technical audiences.
• Experience managing or mentoring data migration professionals.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to meet demanding deadlines.
