Data & MIS Officer – Secondary School

About the role
The school is seeking a highly organised Data & MIS Officer to manage and safeguard all student and school data. You will work closely with senior leaders, providing accurate analysis and reports that drive decision‑making and improve pupil outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain accuracy and integrity of all Management Information System (MIS) data.
- Produce reports for senior leadership, governors and department heads.
- Analyse attainment, progress and attendance data.
- Support statutory returns, including DfE census requirements.
- Oversee MIS platforms (e.g., Arbor), manage user access and system updates.
- Assist with year‑end data transitions and design reporting templates.
- Support timetabling, course data management and student allocation processes.
- Monitor attendance, persistent absence and provide data insights to safeguarding and pastoral teams.
Required profile
- Detail‑focused with strong organisational skills.
- Experience working with school data and statutory reporting.
- Ability to produce clear, accurate analysis for senior stakeholders.
- Understanding of data security and compliance requirements.
Required skills
- Arbor MIS (or similar school management information system)
