Data Platform Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Data Platform Engineer to join the Group Technology team in Milton Keynes. You will help design, build and maintain a secure, scalable cloud data platform that supports the Connells Group business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the Data Platform for all Connells users, managing downtime and disruption risk.
• Perform root‑cause analysis and resolve incidents, including out‑of‑hours support when required.
• Use Agile methodologies to deliver platform as code and implement Cloud Platform design patterns.
• Manage platform capacity, monitor performance and react to escalations from other IT teams.
• Support projects and collaborate with team members and third‑party providers.

Required profile

• Demonstrable experience in similar technical roles, including incident resolution and change management.
• Experience implementing cloud technologies and working with Microsoft Fabric and SQL Server.
• Strong communication skills and ability to share ideas within a team.
• Willingness to learn and adopt best practices in a complex, pressured environment.
