Data Protection Compliance Support Officer (Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking a Data Protection Compliance Support Officer on a temporary basis to help manage increased demand for privacy work. The role will be based in West Croydon with a hybrid schedule, supporting the Head of Data Protection.

Key responsibilities

• Track, log and progress routine Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and associated actions.
• Manage data sharing agreements, supplier due‑diligence checks and Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.
• Administer Subject Access Requests (SARs) and record data incidents.
• Monitor the data protection inbox, maintain trackers and ensure accurate case records.
• Maintain audit trails of deadlines, next steps and escalation points.
• Support wider compliance activities such as privacy notices, Records of Processing Activities (RoPA), policy updates, training coordination and Data Champion support.

Required profile

• Proven experience completing DPIAs and handling associated risks and approvals.
• Strong understanding of UK GDPR and the Freedom of Information Act 2000 with practical application experience.
• Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Confidence in handling sensitive information securely.
• Effective communication and record‑keeping abilities.
• Ability to work independently on routine tasks and to escalate complex or high‑risk issues appropriately.
