Data Protection Manager – GDPR & Information Governance

About the role

The Data Protection Manager will lead data protection and information governance across the organisation, taking full ownership of compliance and supporting the practical use of data. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will ensure the business meets UK GDPR requirements while enabling effective data-driven decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Lead data protection and information governance activities across the organisation.
• Ensure compliance with UK GDPR and related legislation.
• Manage data breaches, conduct DPIAs and oversee data sharing arrangements.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
• Provide advice and guidance to staff and senior leaders.
• Deliver training and awareness programmes on data protection.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data protection, information governance or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of GDPR and UK data‑privacy regulations.
• Confident stakeholder engagement and ability to provide practical guidance.
• Experience handling DPIAs, SARs, breaches and compliance frameworks.
• Awareness of data governance within Microsoft 365 environments.
