Data Protection Officer – Temporary (2 months)

About the role

Our client, a London‑based university, is seeking a Data Protection Officer on an initial two‑month contract. The role starts immediately and offers the chance to support the institution’s data governance while working in a modern office environment.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for all Data Protection and Information Governance queries.
• Provide confidential, accurate advice on relevant regulations to internal stakeholders.
• Handle complex cases independently, supporting the wider Data Protection team.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of GDPR and related legislation.

Required profile

• Recent experience in a higher‑education or similar environment.
• Ability to work autonomously with no line‑management responsibilities.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of GDPR and UK data protection legislation.
• Understanding of Information Governance principles.
