Data Protection Solicitor – up to £95,000 DOE

About the role

We are seeking a Data Protection Solicitor with at least two years post‑qualification experience to join our award‑winning specialist team in Oxford. The role is initially a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, with the possibility of extension or permanent employment, and offers hybrid working.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on complex data protection matters, including Subject Access Requests (SARs) and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
• Manage and respond to data breaches and personal data incidents.
• Handle contentious data protection disputes, including tribunal proceedings.
• Support the team on high‑profile, commercial projects involving UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor or experienced in‑house data protection professional.
• Minimum 2 years post‑qualification experience in data protection or privacy law.
• Strong working knowledge of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act.
• Demonstrated experience managing DSARs, FOIA requests and responding to data breaches.
• Commercial, pragmatic approach to problem‑solving.
