Data Quality Analyst

About the role

The Data Quality Analyst ensures that the organisation's data is accurate, complete, consistent and reliable. You will act as the bridge between business needs and technical delivery, tracking anomalies, understanding data flows and improving quality at source and downstream.

Key responsibilities

• Profile datasets against quality dimensions (accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness, validity) and monitor issues via dashboards.
• Define and refine data quality rules with stakeholders and embed automated checks into ETL, warehouse and reporting environments.
• Investigate root causes of data anomalies, work with system owners to implement fixes and prevent recurrence.
• Support data governance activities, including data dictionaries, quality frameworks and stewardship.
• Partner with data engineers, analysts and subject‑matter experts to embed quality controls and automate validation/cleansing.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with a track record of delivering data quality improvement plans.
• Experience in regulated sectors is a plus.
• Clear communicator able to explain complex findings simply.
• Curious, methodical and delivery‑focused, confident in challenging assumptions.

Required skills

• SQL for analysis, validation and investigation.
• Familiarity with data governance tools such as Azure Purview.
• Understanding of ETL processes and ability to translate business rules into technical validation logic.
• Experience setting data quality metrics, thresholds and building dashboards.
