Data Scientist – AI Transformation for Travel Platform

About the role

Awaze is embarking on an ambitious AI transformation to reshape how customers discover, plan and book holidays. As a Data Scientist in the Data Science team, you will work directly with the Chief Data Officer to develop machine‑learning solutions that drive commercial impact across search, pricing, personalization and fraud detection.

Key responsibilities

• Design, experiment with and implement predictive machine‑learning models that improve customer experience and business outcomes.
• Develop and evaluate classification models, performing sensitivity analysis to assess robustness and performance.
• Explore large, complex datasets using Python, Pandas and Polars to uncover patterns and opportunities.
• Build real‑time models that predict customer intent, behaviour and commercial results.
• Research and prototype data‑science approaches for fraud detection, anomaly detection and risk classification.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Commercial teams to move models from experimentation to production.
• Optimize and scale existing algorithms for accuracy, performance and efficiency.
• Design and analyse A/B tests to measure the impact of new models, pricing strategies and product changes.
• Translate complex modelling outputs into clear commercial recommendations for senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Data Scientist or similar role, comfortable working with large datasets and advanced analytics.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to experiment, iterate and deliver measurable business impact.
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical findings to non‑technical audiences.
