Data Scientist – Remote (UK) – Generative AI

About the role

Join our client as a Data Scientist working remotely in the UK, with occasional visits to London or Manchester. After completing a free 16‑week part‑time training course, you will take technical ownership of high‑profile Generative AI projects and collaborate closely with senior data leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Generative AI initiatives from ideation through proof‑of‑concept to MVP and enterprise‑scale deployment.
• Drive technical innovation by prototyping and evaluating novel GenAI concepts and machine‑learning techniques.
• Collaborate with the Chief Data Scientist for strategy alignment, mentorship, and quality assurance.
• Act as a technical liaison between programme teams and stakeholders to translate requirements into AI solutions.
• Maintain high standards of model evaluation, documentation, and execution on high‑visibility projects.

Required profile

• At least 1.5 years of experience in a technology‑focused role using Python.
• Ability to pass a technical assessment in Python, Java or JavaScript.
• Commitment to complete a 16‑week part‑time training course to develop mid‑level skills.

Required skills

• Full AI project lifecycle experience, from research and prototyping to production deployment.
• Advanced analytics with Python and AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, and Hugging Face.
• Strong knowledge of NLP and machine‑learning methods, including foundation and large language models.
• Experience building AI solutions using tools like GitHub Copilot and Amazon CodeWhisperer.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud) and databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, DB2, MongoDB).
