Data Solution Architect

About the role

We are supporting a leading UK retail organisation that is undergoing a major data transformation. As a Data Solution Architect you will shape the future of the company’s customer data capabilities across analytics, personalisation, CRM, loyalty and marketing.

Key responsibilities

• Define target‑state and transition‑state customer data architectures.
• Design scalable solutions that support analytics, personalisation and business growth.
• Lead architectural decisions around identity resolution, master data management and data governance.
• Produce architecture artefacts and design documentation for engineering teams.
• Review solution designs for alignment with architecture principles and governance standards.
• Collaborate with Data, Analytics, CRM, Loyalty, Marketing and Technology stakeholders.
• Drive best practice across data integration, quality and security.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Data or Solution Architect within a large‑scale retail environment.
• Strong background in Customer Data Architecture and Management.
• Experience designing Data Lake and Lakehouse solutions.
• Understanding of analytics, reporting and customer insight platforms.
• Knowledge of data governance, security and enterprise‑architecture principles.
• Ability to present solutions and influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience creating and governing architecture standards and design principles.

What we offer

• 6‑month initial contract.
• Rate up to £750 per day (Umbrella), inside IR35.
• Hybrid working – 3 days onsite in London.
