Data & Systems Administrator (6‑month Fixed Term)

About the role

We are seeking a systems‑oriented Data & Systems Administrator to support the implementation and transition of a new computer system for our client in Southampton. This is a 6‑month fixed‑term contract working Monday‑Friday, 37.5 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Check and test data input against system output and perform data migration.
• Conduct defined data quality and control checks, including parallel comparisons with legacy systems.
• Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and resolve defects.
• Identify, track, and escalate data trends and anomalies, ensuring issues are resolved.
• Maintain up‑to‑date process documentation.

Required profile

• Enjoys working with systems and has a high attention to detail.
• Strong knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables, look‑up functions and reconciliation techniques.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data reconciliation).
• Experience with web‑based ticketing or workflow tools such as Jira (or equivalent).
• Ability to write and execute SQL queries for data extracts, validation and investigation.
