Data Technical Lead

About the role

We are looking for a Data Technical Lead to join a fast‑moving team in London. The position is an initial contract running until the end of the year, with a hybrid working model (three days onsite). You will help modernise the company’s cloud data landscape and drive the PDE platform forward.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and implementation of scalable data solutions on Azure and Databricks.
• Define and enforce data strategy, governance, quality standards and platform best practices.
• Optimise platform performance and manage cloud costs, focusing on Databricks streaming workloads.
• Provide end‑to‑end technical leadership from architecture through delivery and production support.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure solutions align with organisational goals.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading data engineering or technical delivery teams in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong background designing and delivering solutions using Azure and Databricks.
• Deep understanding of data architecture, governance, data quality and cloud optimisation.
• Experience managing Databricks streaming workloads and improving platform performance.
• Background in the financial trading domain with knowledge of trading data models.
• Track record of delivering complex data solutions from concept to production.
