Databricks Data Architect – Hybrid (London)

Join a high‑growth consultancy at the forefront of modern data engineering and AI. As a Databricks Data Architect you will shape data strategy, influence enterprise decisions and build world‑class lakehouse platforms for leading UK organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement Databricks Lakehouse solutions across ingestion, processing, storage, governance and analytics.
• Design scalable platforms for structured and unstructured data and translate business needs into robust technical architectures.
• Lead architectural engagements, own delivery scope, budget and timelines.
• Advise clients on best practices, data governance, security (RBAC, IAM, encryption) and optimisation.
• Debug and tune workloads for performance and cost efficiency.
• Build CI/CD pipelines using Databricks Repos, GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
• Support RFI/RFP responses, deliver proofs of concept and contribute reusable patterns to the Architecture practice.

Required profile

• Deep end‑to‑end experience delivering enterprise Databricks analytics solutions.
• Expertise in Lakehouse Architecture, Delta Lake, Spark and PySpark.
• Strong data‑modelling skills (3NF, Kimball, Data Vault).
• Experience exposing Delta Lakehouse data to Power BI or Tableau.
• Proficiency in Python, Scala or SQL for data engineering.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure, AWS or GCP services.
• Knowledge of Databricks security features (RBAC, IAM, encryption).
• Excellent analytical abilities and confidence to challenge thinking at all levels.
