Databricks Engineer – Data Engineer, Central London

About the role

We are seeking a Databricks Engineer to join a leading UK energy trader and power generator. Based in Central London, you will be the first in‑house hire responsible for building and owning an energy‑trading data platform on Databricks as part of a company‑wide Data & AI transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain the Databricks‑based data platform supporting energy trading operations.
• Collaborate with trading, analytics, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Ensure data quality, performance, and security across the platform.
• Drive best practices in data engineering, testing, and documentation.
• Take ownership of the platform’s roadmap and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work in a fast‑moving, high‑scale environment.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work across small teams and large‑scale operations.
• Self‑motivated and comfortable being the first specialist in this domain.
