DataComms Technician – Enterprise Network Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated DataComms Technician to join our Enterprise Engineering team in Redhill, Surrey. You will design, implement and support advanced communications and networking solutions for customers operating in remote, maritime and global environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, test, commission and support customer network solutions across VSAT, LTE, IP, VoIP and cloud services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues escalated from field teams.
• Support projects from initial design through deployment and ongoing maintenance.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation for internal and customer use.
• Evaluate new technologies and products for inclusion in the company portfolio.
• Participate in site surveys, installations and network configurations, with occasional short‑notice travel.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, Logistics and Product teams to deliver customer‑focused solutions.

Required profile

• Degree, HND or HNC in IT, Computer Science, Electronics, Networking or a related field.
• Full right to work in the UK and ability to travel to customer sites.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a proactive and flexible attitude.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routing, switching and firewall technologies.
• Experience with VoIP technologies, particularly Asterisk.
• Scripting or programming experience (Bash, Perl or similar).
• Familiarity with satellite communications, LTE and IP networking services.
• Understanding of virtualization, cybersecurity and cloud‑based services.
• Cisco and/or Microsoft certifications (preferred).
