Datacoms Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a technically‑minded networking professional to join our engineering team in Redhill. The Datacoms Engineer will work on complex communications, IT infrastructure and customer network solutions, supporting design, implementation and ongoing maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Support design, implementation and maintenance of customer network solutions.
• Investigate, own and resolve complex technical and network‑related issues.
• Assist with build, testing, commissioning and deployment of IT and communications systems.
• Provide on‑site and remote support for customer projects as part of the engineering team.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and project records.
• Evaluate new products, applications and services to meet future customer requirements.
• Participate in network installations, surveys and configurations at customer sites when required.

Required profile

• A degree, HND or HNC in IT, Computer Science, Electronics or a related technical discipline.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts, including routing, switching and firewall technologies.
• Proven experience diagnosing and resolving complex technical faults.
• Experience working with modern IT infrastructure, communications or networking systems.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional approach to customer interaction.
