Day Care Assistant – Residential Home

About the role

Oakland Care Group is seeking a reliable and compassionate Day Care Assistant to join its well‑regarded residential home in Littlehampton. You will provide high‑quality, person‑centred care throughout the night, supporting residents with routine tasks and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist residents with night‑time routines, including bedtime preparation and morning wake‑up support.
• Provide personal care with dignity and respect.
• Carry out regular checks on residents throughout the night and respond promptly to needs.
• Support continence care according to care plans and protocols.
• Monitor and record any changes in residents’ conditions and report to senior staff.
• Respond to call bells and resident requests efficiently.
• Reposition residents to prevent discomfort and pressure sores.
• Maintain a calm, reassuring presence and offer emotional support when required.
• Ensure the home remains clean, tidy, and hazard‑free during night hours.
• Follow safeguarding policies, emergency plans, and fire procedures.
• Complete documentation and handover reports for day staff.
• Undertake mandatory and additional training for professional development.

• Ability to maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with senior staff.
