Day Shift Leader

About the role

Join a leading UK building services provider as a Day Shift Leader at a prestigious commercial site in London Waterloo. You will manage the daily operation of a busy commercial building, leading a small on‑site engineering team and acting as the primary client contact.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems.
• Perform electrical fault‑finding, diagnostics and work on single‑ and three‑phase power systems.
• Test and maintain emergency lighting, BMS, AHUs, FCUs, pumps and motors.
• Oversee generators, UPS systems and other critical plant equipment.
• Assist with VAV and VRF systems and ensure water‑treatment compliance.
• Supervise subcontractors, maintain safety standards and produce accurate site logbooks.
• Build strong relationships with clients and occupants while supporting on‑site engineers.

Required profile

• City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installations.
• Extensive commercial building maintenance experience with an electrical focus.
• Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of critical building services plant.
• Excellent fault‑finding and problem‑solving abilities.
• Good client‑facing and communication skills.
• Apprenticeship training desirable.
