Dayshift Cook – No Evenings

About the role

Join Mearns View Care Home as a Dayshift Cook, working a consistent daytime schedule with no evenings or split shifts. You will prepare nutritious, high‑quality meals for residents in a luxury 67‑bed care facility, supporting their health and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve balanced, well‑presented meals using fresh ingredients.
• Adapt menus to meet individual dietary requirements and personal preferences.
• Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene, safety and kitchen cleanliness.
• Support menu planning and ensure variety in daily meals.
• Collaborate with the wider care home team to run the kitchen efficiently.

Required profile

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role.
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Positive, reliable and caring attitude.

What we offer

• £13.50 per hour.
• Fixed‑term contract: 4 days per week, 7:00 am–5:30 pm.
• No evening or split‑shift work.
• Pension scheme (PVG).
• Uniform provided.
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on full‑time hours).
