About the role

The University of Sheffield is seeking an outstanding academic leader to serve as Dean of its Management School. This senior position will guide a triple‑accredited business school (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA) through a period of strategic growth and increased global competition.

Key responsibilities

• Set and communicate a clear strategic direction for research, education and external engagement.
• Lead organisational development, including structural change and operational effectiveness.
• Strengthen financial sustainability and manage complex budgets.
• Build and mentor a high‑performing senior leadership team.
• Enhance the school’s external profile, partnerships and global reputation.
• Support continued success across accreditation frameworks.

Required profile

• Established academic leader with a professorial‑level record.
• Significant senior leadership experience as Dean, Deputy Dean or equivalent.
• Proven track record of leading change and improving organisational performance.
• Experience managing large, complex portfolios and competing priorities.
• Strong interpersonal, influencing and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Commitment to inclusive leadership and high‑performing culture.
