Defects and Aftercare Officer

About the role

This role joins the Development team at Wandle Housing Association, handling construction defect resolution and after‑care service for new homeowners and residents.

Key responsibilities

• Act as first point of contact for customers reporting defects during the defect liability period.
• Coordinate with contractors, developers and internal teams to ensure remedial works are completed on time.
• Provide a defects resolution service, addressing issues promptly and effectively.
• Review customer satisfaction data and proactively contact customers to resolve concerns.
• Attend snagging, de‑snagging and end‑of‑defects inspections, recording outstanding issues for handover.

Required profile

• 3+ years’ experience in construction defect or customer care management.
• Strong stakeholder management with a customer‑first approach.
• High level of IT proficiency, especially MS Office and housing management systems such as Dynamics.
• Knowledge of building regulations, technical aspects of buildings and commercial awareness of development contracts (e.g., JCT).
• Valid UK driving licence and easy access to the South London area.
