Defence Consultant – Lead Delivery for MOD Projects

About the role

Kainos is seeking a Defence Consultant Lead to drive the delivery of complex programmes for the Ministry of Defence, Armed Forces and the wider Defence Industrial Base. You will work across data, AI, cloud platforms and bespoke software development to help keep the country safe.

Key responsibilities

• Lead analysis of client business challenges and design technology‑enabled solutions.
• Develop joint Kainos/client transformation roadmaps and oversee their execution.
• Guide delivery teams in refining services and product offerings.
• Identify, qualify and convert new business opportunities for the Defence practice.
• Mentor and develop junior talent through coaching and thought leadership.

Required profile

• British national with current SC clearance and willingness to apply for DV.
• Significant experience in the Defence sector or a closely related field.
• Proven ability to understand client problems quickly and propose feasible solutions.
• Strong stakeholder communication and relationship‑building skills at all organisational levels.
• Willingness to travel and work on‑site up to four days per week.
