Defendant Motor Solicitor – Insurance Litigation

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Defendant Motor Solicitor to join a specialist law firm’s busy Insurance Litigation team in Warrington. You will manage your own caseload of motor claims, providing commercially‑focused advice and handling both litigated and pre‑litigated matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of defendant motor claims, including liability disputes, credit hire, repair, personal injury and Ministry of Justice (MOJ) or non‑MOJ matters.
• Draft pleadings, evidence bundles and legal correspondence.
• Negotiate settlements and pursue settlement opportunities where appropriate.
• Meet all deadlines, service level agreements and procedural requirements.
• Identify risk, fraud and indemnity issues early in the process.
• Collaborate effectively within a supportive team environment.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with experience in defendant or claimant road traffic accident (RTA) cases.
• Background in litigated motor files and credit hire matters.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage a busy caseload independently.

Required skills

• Experience with MOJ/OIC portal (desirable).
