Dementia‑Cancer Specialist Adviser (Part‑time, Fixed‑term)

About the role

Join a pioneering pilot programme that supports people living with both dementia and cancer. As a Dementia‑Cancer Specialist Adviser you will be the named point of contact, helping clients navigate complex cancer pathways while maintaining their wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personalised, dementia‑aware support throughout the cancer journey.
• Help individuals understand information, attend appointments and participate in decision‑making.
• Coordinate with cancer services, dementia services and carers to ensure seamless care.
• Deliver home visits, community‑venue meetings and office‑based consultations as needed.
• Collect feedback to inform system improvements and learning for the pilot.

Required profile

• Experience supporting older people, vulnerable adults or those with long‑term conditions.
• Understanding of dementia’s impact on communication and decision‑making.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with people in distress.
• Experience supporting carers is desirable.

• 21 hours per week, fixed‑term contract (2 years, grant funded).
• Salary £30,500 per year (pro‑rated £18,300 for part‑time).
