Dental Practice Receptionist

About the role

Join a specialist orthodontic practice in Sutton Coldfield as the first point of contact for patients. You will create a welcoming atmosphere, manage appointments, and support the clinical team to ensure smooth patient journeys.

Key responsibilities

• Warmly greet patients in person and over the phone, answering queries and creating a relaxed environment.
• Manage the diary: schedule, cancel, and reschedule appointments efficiently.
• Explain treatment processes, payment options, and differentiate between NHS and private services.
• Maintain accurate patient records, handle confidential information, and keep the reception area professional.
• Resolve concerns and complaints with empathy, aiming for positive outcomes.
• Assist clinicians with handovers and support the Practice Manager in daily operations.

Required profile

• People‑focused and empathetic with a passion for excellent customer service.
• Previous experience in a customer‑facing role.
• Strong verbal communication skills, both face‑to‑face and telephone.
• Confident using IT systems for bookings and record keeping.
• Proactive, flexible, and willing to support the team wherever needed.
• Professional demeanor with the ability to promote and upsell dental products and services.
