About the role

The Bread Factory is seeking an experienced Department Manager to lead daily production at its new Milton Keynes site. This full‑time position oversees artisan bakery operations, ensuring high‑quality output and on‑time delivery while supporting a growing team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily production operations, maintaining quality and delivery targets.
• Develop, coach, and support Line Leaders to achieve excellence in performance.
• Monitor production standards and drive continuous improvement in efficiency and innovation.
• Uphold food hygiene, safety, and compliance across all bakery processes.
• Oversee shift planning, performance reviews, and operational reporting.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in food manufacturing or bakery production.
• Strong communication and team‑development abilities with a hands‑on approach.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining exceptional product standards.
• Proactive, organised, and solution‑driven mindset with a passion for quality craftsmanship.
