Depot Operations Manager

About the role

Cast UK Limited is seeking an experienced Depot Operations Manager to lead a busy logistics site in Chessington. This hands‑on role focuses on delivering efficient depot processes, high service standards and strong team performance in a fast‑paced distribution environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily depot activities including receiving, storage, inventory control and dispatch.
• Optimize workflows, space utilisation and equipment deployment.
• Lead, motivate and develop supervisors, drivers and warehouse staff.
• Maintain accurate stock records and coordinate with transport teams.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and conduct risk assessments.
• Resolve operational challenges and customer issues promptly.
• Build relationships with internal departments, suppliers and partners.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in depot, warehouse or logistics management.
• Strong leadership and people‑management abilities.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑moving environment.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management.

Required skills

• Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
• Microsoft Office suite
• Knowledge of Microsoft Business Central (advantageous)
• Health & safety and operational compliance standards
